WWF Slovakia took part in the 18th edition of the Forestry Days event organised by the National Forestry Centre under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Slovak Republic. Forestry Days in Zvolen are traditionally known for their high attendance.
On Friday, 19 April, 200 partners participated in the event and around 5,000 visitors attended. Schools and educational institutions from Zvolen and the surrounding area come to the event every year.
On Saturday 20.4. the Forestry Days took place in Bratislava, where the event is mainly attended by parents with children. The theme of this year’s days was Forests and Innovation. During both days WWF presented the activities of the CLIMAFORCEELIFE project, we explained to the public the need for introducing climate-smart forest management using the example of forests in the Záhorie region. To better explain the issue of adaptation of forests to climate change, we use various interactive aids adapted for adults and children.
