WWF participated in an event under the “Forest Week”, organized by Forestry University

Every year, during the first week of April in Bulgaria, the “Forest Week” is celebrated. This year WWF Bulgaria was invited to a discussion on “Biodiversity and the transformation of forests as a means of adapting to climate change”, organized by the Forestry University.

During the conference, various projects working on the topic of adaptation of forests to climate change were presented, with an emphasis on the transformation of artificially created pine forests and the importance of biological diversity.

WWF presented its work on the activity “Monitoring of forest biodiversity and applied climate-smart measures in forests”, under the CLIMAFORCEE LIFE project.

Among the participants were professors at the university, students, representatives of the Executive Forest Agency at the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry; Ministry of Environment, businesses and NGOs.
