Friday 27 September 2024 was devoted to discovery and innovation. Several Slovak cities hosted the European Science Night, some of them for the 18th time. The WWF Slovakia team also took part in this popular event. In Banská Bystrica, WWF experts presented projects aimed at improving the ecological condition of forests and rivers. We explained our activities within the CLIMAFORCEELIFE project to the public using interactive tools.
From early Friday morning, the Europa Shopping Centre was filled with young scientists, primary and secondary school students, teachers and families. Curious visitors came from different parts of Slovakia to learn more about the world around them, of which nature is an integral part. At the WWF stand they had the opportunity to get up-to-date information on forest and water protection. This year we focused on the adaptation of forests to climate change and nature-friendly ways of retaining water in the landscape.
