The project is co-financed under the European Union’s LIFE Programme and is being implemented with the participation of the Southwestern State Forest Enterprise (SWSFE), in partnership with organizations from four other countries.
As part of the project, a specialized harvester machine has been purchased and is being actively used to carry out thinning operations in the designated project areas.
As of 30 June, 454 hectares out of the total 800 hectares planned for treatment by the end of the project have been completed. The activities carried out in the third quarter are to be reported.
A technical workshop is being prepared for 13-14 October 2026, bringing together representatives of stakeholders and project partners. The meeting will include a field visit to areas where the planned interventions have already been carried out.
During the meeting, the results achieved through the application of the innovative harvesting method, as well as the practical experience gained from its use, will be presented and discussed.
By applying modern technologies and sustainable practices, the project contributes to more climate-smart management and sustainable stewardship of forest areas.
