WWF Hungary announced the “Climate-Smart Forestry Award” in spring 2025 as part of the CLIMAFORCEELIFE project, supported by the European Union’s LIFE Programme. The award was open to forest managers and forestry professionals who demonstrate outstanding, exemplary practices that address climate adaptation challenges in an innovative way.
A total of 33 applications were submitted. The winners were selected by a professional jury composed of representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, the National Association of Private Forest Owners and Managers (MEGOSZ), the Hungarian Forestry Association, and WWF Hungary. The Climate-Smart Forestry Award was presented to eight recipients on June 24, 2025. Among them, three category leaders received special recognition.
