Climate change – we hear this expression very often. The extreme weather poses a challenge not only for us, but also for the plants and animal species of the forests.
WWF Hungary has created an education booklet and a lesson plan for children of 9-12 ages. The aim of the booklet is to educate schoolkids about climate change and the importance of healthy and resilient forests. The booklet showcases – through 10 exercises – the effects of climate change on forests (e.g. invasive species, extreme weather) and the characteristics of a climate resilient forest (diversity of species, native species, food chain in the forest).
